The Levites were responsible to Moses and were to perform all the duties and care of the Tent of Meeting. This was God’s command.
But the Levites were not happy and so they opposed Moses indicating that he had overstepped his boundary, and was acting as if he was running the show.
This chapter reminded me of how we respond, even today, to the situations we’re in. We’re doing a task, we’re not content, so we start to grumble and find ways to blame others for our discontentment. We see what others have, and want it. Sin is a selfish act, and when we start to put our desires before God, we will never be content.

Funny, I had the same thought. The comparison game is strong but leads to disaster if not checked. I think as we’ve seen from previous verses, not everyone is suited for every job. We should have pride in our gifts and abilities instead of wishing we had the gifts and abilities of others.
