The first chapters of the book of 1 Chronicles, including this one, pertains to the twelve tribes of Israel. For some reason, the accounts for the tribes of Zebulun and Dan have not been included. The reason is uncertain, however, one commentary said this may be a reason for its omission:
“only it is the disgrace of the tribe of Dan that idolatry began in that colony of the Danites which fixed in Laish, and called Dan, and there one of the golden calves was set up by Jeroboam,”
Sometimes we choose to avoid people, even family members, for the hurt or pain that they have caused us. This may be the case for the tribe of Dan. This then reminded me of the importance in how we treat those in our immediate family. Are we demonstrating a reason for them to include us, or avoid us?

Touché. Your thoughts are echoed in today’s verse of the day: “People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart.”
Proverbs 21:2 NLT
What choices are we making that we try and justify (and really you can almost excuse away anything if you really try) when it’s actually not what God would want us to do.
