“Come and hear, all who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.” Psalm 66:16 NIV
In the previous Psalm, Psalm 65, we were reminded of the many reasons as to why God is worthy of our praise. Today’s Psalm continues along the same theme, recapping a few examples of God’s awesome works performed for the Israelites.
For those of us who have been true followers of Christ – laying our burdens at His feet, confessing our sins to Him, asking the Lord for wisdom and guidance, and seeking answers to our prayers, we should be able to declare to others what the Lord has done for us. Further to that, we should also be excited to share our experiences with others as a way of encouraging them to keep their faith.

Interesting that this similar verse stood out for me:
“Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people!”
Psalms 66:5 NLT
But it stood out for me as a reminder that where our focus is that is where we look. We need to ‘come’ and see what God has done. He doesn’t make us. We have the choice to come or to not. I also think that if our focus is what miracles God is doing in our lives we will focus on that and see it for what it is. But if we have not “come” and our focus is not on God then we can dismiss miracles as coincidence or fate and not that God is at work as a way maker.
