“For your ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all your paths.” Proverbs 5:21 NIV
This chapter is talking about adultery and warns the reader to avoid it. The verse above stood out to me because it applies to every area of our lives, not just adultery. One reason to avoid sin is the certainty that our Judge does see all that we do. There are no “closet” sins, no secrets, for nothing is hidden from His eyes. All our actions are in the open with no secrecy – the good and the bad.
By examining our paths, He not only sees our sins, but He takes notice of, observes, and ponders them – which we are all one day held accountable for – yikers!
May we pay attention to wisdom, acquiring a taste for good sense, which in turn will keep us on the path of life and not the path of destruction.

We must have been on the same wavelength because that verse also stood out for me for the same reason that it applies to all areas of our lives:
“For the Lord sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes.”
Proverbs 5:21 NLT
Our motives are not hidden from God. They are crystal clear. Not only does God examine every path we take but he knows which ones lead to destruction and which lead us into a greater relationship with Him. Would our actions be different if we truly understood that God clearly sees what we do? If he were a physical presence (able to be seen) would that make choosing a correct path easier?
