Proverbs 15

“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Proverbs 15:1 NIV

We are not in control of how others speak to us, but we ought to be in control of our tongue and how we respond to others. A soft answer, or one that is passive, will prevent the progress of irritation. On the flip side, a harsh or sharp reply will raise a passion where there was none before, and perhaps cause it to flame into a fury.

  1. “A bowl of vegetables with someone you love is better than steak with someone you hate.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭15:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Speaking as someone who is not a fan of steak 😏 this stood out for me. The premise does make sense…it’s not the size of the event or the prestige of the gathering it’s more about the company. Relationships are important. When you have a solid one it won’t matter what you’re doing, how clean the house is, or why you are meeting because being together is more important than anything else.
