“A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart.” Proverbs 21:2 NIV
We justify our actions and we are partial in judging ourselves. Those around us can only see what we do and hear what we say, but the Lord examines and knows our motives.
“There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.” Provers 21:30 NIV
Nothing conceived can be better than God. Mankind’s best devices and reliances are vain compared to God. No plan will ever stand nor prevail that which is against the Lord. This does not mean that we are not to use our resources, but our strength must be in the Lord, and in the power of His might.

“The wise have wealth and luxury, but fools spend whatever they get.”
Proverbs 21:20 NLT
Delayed gratification is something that is not practiced often anymore. Hungry? Stop and grab fast food in an instant. Want information? It’s at your fingertips on your smart phone. See something you like but can’t afford it? Feel like watching a movie or a show? Stream an endless supply on demand. Buy it on credit. The problem is that it’s so easy to spend money on things we don’t really need but our desire to have it now takes over and we can easily become fools that pay unnecessary amounts of interest on things we couldn’t wait to have. This causes a cycle of living pay check to pay check. Wise people save and use their money wisely and can live within their means which allows them the luxury of having money (wealth) when they need it and the luxury of being free from being indebted to others.
