“Huram-abi also made the necessary washbasins, shovels, and bowls. So at last Huram-abi completed everything King Solomon had assigned him to make for the Temple of God:”. 2 Chronicles 4:11 NLT
Throughout this chapter we read about the various furnishings that were made for the Temple; from the altar to the required utensils that would be used during sacrifices. In reading all that was required to be made, it was actually beginning to overwhelm me. Not only were all items made, but prior to casting them, they first needed to make the molds in order to cast the furnishings.
I couldn’t help but appreciate the pre-thought and scheduling required in order to make all these items in a timely manner. In redoing our back yard, I’ve encountered steps that I had not thought out very well – the outcome was having to move the same pile of gravel on more than one occasion. (I am not mentioning this as a proud moment in my life)
King Solomon gave direction in building the Temple to Huram-abi, but the Lord first gave the commands to Solomon. We do not read that walls or items needed to be remade, moved, or changed. This chapter reminded me of how we ought to listen to God and follow His plan. After all, His knowledge is far greater than ours and all wisdom comes from the Lord.

Good analogy. I wondered if Huram lived with Solomon or if he returned home in between his work?!
