Proverbs 31

“Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies. She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness. Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a women who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.” Proverbs 31:10, 27 & 30 NLT

Perhaps this was an outline for a woman of that day and age, but this is applicable and suitable for any time and place. To have a trustworthy wife who not only takes care of her needs, but makes it her constant business in caring for the needs of her husband and children as well. A wife who manages well – balancing time for the various extra curricular activities while maintaining school work being completed and household chores not forgotten. Who continually watches over, asks questions, and prays for her household – that God would protect them and that He would convict them in their wrong doing. And all the while, finding pleasure in doing so!

I am very blessed to say that my wife can be described by theses verses, which is probably why they stood out to me. Although I think I hit the jackpot because she exemplifies charm, beauty, and the fear of the Lord 😊

  1. You’re kind. I aspire to be this.

This stood out for me after our conversation today:
“She goes to inspect a field and buys it; with her earnings she plants a vineyard.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Maybe the modern translation for field is “commercial building” and planting a vineyard translates into starting a new business 😏 what do you think?

“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:25‬ ‭NLT‬‬
