2 Chronicles 10

“So the king paid no attention to the people. This turn of events was the will of God, for it fulfilled the Lord’s message to Jeroboam son of Nebat through the prophet Ahijah from Shiloh.” 2 Chronicles 10:15 NLT

This chapter had many events taking place. Individually these events may be seen as random, but in looking at the whole picture, they could only be explained as being the will of God: Jeroboam returning back to Israel after fleeing to Egypt for his safety, Rehoboam rejecting the advice from his more experienced advisors, and how the Israelites forsook Jeroboam by returning to their homes and stoning Adoniram (who Rehoboam sent to restore the order).

It provides comfort to me knowing that God is always in control. He is always making a way for His plan, and He will use many different people with varying personalities and strengths in order to suit His purpose; the strong, the wise, the foolish, the deceiver, as well as the deceived.

  1. Yup same verse stood out for me: “So the king paid no attention to the people. This turn of events was the will of God, for it fulfilled the Lord’s message to Jeroboam son of Nebat through the prophet Ahijah from Shiloh.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭10:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Was. The. Will. Of. God.

Not an accident, not a coincidence, not unplanned. Orchestrated by God and fulfillment of His promise. What a comfort to know God keeps His promises.
