“In the third year of his reign Jehoshaphat sent his officials to teach in all the towns of Judah. They took copies of the Book of the Law of the Lord and travelled around through all the towns of Judah, teaching the people.” 2 Chronicles 17:7 & 9 NLT
Jehoshaphat’s officials were not only telling the people how to live, they were teaching the people. When you are teaching someone, you are investing into that individual because you care about that person and want to help influence their decisions, behaviours, and weaknesses.
As believers in Christ we should have a desire to tell others of Christ’s love for us and to educate them with His plan of salvation.

This stood out for me:
“He was deeply committed to the ways of the Lord. He removed the pagan shrines and Asherah poles from Judah.”
2 Chronicles 17:6 NLT
I keep reading about Asherah poles and the removal of them. Seems silly to erect a pole or a shrine to fill the space that God should occupy. We may not see the poles and shrines that existed back then but we certainly have other “poles” we erect to worship.
This article was a good read: https://www.christianity.com/wiki/bible/what-is-an-asherah-pole.html
