2 Chronicles 19

“Even so, there is some good in you, for you have removed the Asherah poles throughout the land, and you have committed yourself to seeking God.” 2 Chronicles 19:3 NLT

We tend to focus on the bad that others do, forgetting that there is still some good. Even though Jehoshaphat sided with Ahab, which frustrated the Lord, God was able to see past his evil actions, take notice of his heart and focus on that which was pleasing to Him.

A good reminder for us to look past the evil that we can visually see in others, and try to see them as God does.

  1. This stood out for me: “Jehoshaphat lived in Jerusalem, but he went out among the people, traveling from Beersheba to the hill country of Ephraim, encouraging the people to return to the Lord, the God of their ancestors.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭19:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It’s easy to stay comfortable in one place. Jehoshaphat lived in Jerusalem but did not stay there. He moved around from place to place to bring people back to God. Are we too comfortable in our familiar surroundings? Or do we make an effort to move beyond our comfort zone to bring people to Christ.
