“Tomorrow, march out against them. You will find them coming up through the ascent of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel. But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you.” 2 Chronicles 20:16-17 NLT
Some good reminders within the above two verses for our everyday lives: the Lord is with us, we should not be afraid or discouraged, the battles we face belong to the Lord, that we are to be obedient in going where He sends us, and He will take care of the rest.
“Then Eliezer son of Dodavahu from Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat. He said, ‘Because you have allied yourself with King Ahaziah, the Lord will destroy your work.’ So the ships met with disaster and never put out to sea.” 2 Chronicles 20:37 NLT
In addition to the above reminders, when we go against the Lord’s plan it is all for nothing. Not only will God delay or stop our work, but as the verse says, He will destroy your work.
God is in control of everything – the hard part is giving it all to Him.

That first verse stood out for me: “But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the Lord’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!””
2 Chronicles 20:17 NLT
God fights our battles for us and we just need to stop and just stand still. It’s not our job to figure it out or try to do it on our own. Our job is to wait and rest in Him who has it all under control.
