“He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, just as Ahab’s family had sone. They even became his advisers after the death of his father, and they led him to ruin.” 2 Chronicles 22:4 NLT
Those who provide advice to us come across as being our friend, but depending on their advice, they can turn out to being our worst enemy. Ahaziah was the king – he could have chosen anyone to be his advisor, but he allowed himself to by led by evil men. That decision was on him and not his advisors. And unfortunately for him, their advice led to his destruction.

This stood out for me:
“But Ahaziah’s sister Jehosheba, the daughter of King Jehoram, took Ahaziah’s infant son, Joash, and stole him away from among the rest of the king’s children, who were about to be killed. She put Joash and his nurse in a bedroom. In this way, Jehosheba, wife of Jehoiada the priest and sister of Ahaziah, hid the child so that Athaliah could not murder him.”
2 Chronicles 22:11 NLT
God always keeps his promises and makes the impossible possible. Joash was the lineage of David that lead to the birth of Jesus. This was promised and God makes a way for this to happen.
