“The Lord enters into judgment against the elders and leaders of his people: ‘It is you who have ruined my vineyard; the plunder from the poor is in your houses.'” Isaiah 3:14 NIV
In this verse, the Lord is calling out the elders and leaders of His people. Being that I am an elder in our church, perhaps that is why this verse stood out to me. I did not step into this position lightly understanding that those who God calls into a role of elder or leader, will also be held to a strict account for the power entrusted by Him.

I thought that too in regards to teachers.
This stood out for me: “Childish leaders oppress my people, and women rule over them. O my people, your leaders mislead you; they send you down the wrong road.”
Isaiah 3:12 NLT
While this *could* be a verse feminists use to demand the bible be burned, I think the message is that disobedience leads to people out of line with God’s plan. Children don’t have the maturity that leaders should have. Women are not commanded to be in leadership, not that they aren’t valuable but instead that their gifts and talents are designed to work in a different capacity and complementary to men. Putting people in power when they aren’t equipped is dangerous.

So true brother, we all need to be responsible for our walk and example to others. But as is rightly pointed out leaders have a higher burden of responsibility before the Almighty. May our Father bless you and guide you in your leadership role for Him.
