Micah 3

“But as for me, I am filled with power – with the Spirit of the Lord. I am filled with justice and strength to boldly declare Israel’s sin and rebellion.” Micah 3:8 NLT

Micah is very bold in reproving and threatening the great men who were the ringleaders in committing sin. The above verse provides us with the reason why. Not only did God provide Micah with the words to declare, but Micah also received a spirit and power higher than his own – and this too was from God.

Micah’s task of confronting the leaders does not come across to me as an easy one. Yet this did not derail him from fulfilling his calling. Micah was full of power. A power not filled from, or of himself, but a power provided by the Lord.

May we be reminded that when God calls us, as like Micah, He also equips us with the tools necessary to perform the calling.

  1. This stood out for me: “Then you beg the Lord for help in times of trouble! Do you really expect him to answer? After all the evil you have done, he won’t even look at you!””
    ‭‭Micah‬ ‭3:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We live as though there is no God but then expect there will be no consequence for our disobedience. God promises to forgive and redeem us despite what we’ve done but that doesn’t mean there is no consequences for our actions. God knows our heart and if our cry for help is not motivated with the desire to change, we don’t deserve for God to look on us with His favour. However, to truly repent is never ignored by God.
