Isaiah 19

“The Lord will strike Egypt, and then he will bring healing. For the Egyptians will turn to the Lord, and he will listen to their pleas and heal them.” Isaiah 19:22 NLT

Like any good father, our Heavenly Father will punish us for our wrongdoings. But the prophet does not dwell on the punishment of sin, he encourages us to look beyond the chastisement and to look at the end result – healing.

I am reminded of John 3:17 which says, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

It is true, that if we do not believe then we are already condemned. But if we do believe, call upon Him in earnest prayer, live for Him according to His commands, then we will receive eternal life and eternal healing.

May we remember that who the Lord loves, He also punishes. But let us also look beyond the punishment, understanding that He is in the process of healing us.

  1. This stood out for me: ““I will make Egyptian fight against Egyptian— brother against brother, neighbor against neighbor, city against city, province against province.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭19:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Kind of sounds like today 🙈
    Canadian vs Canadian
    Hutterite colony vs city dwellers
    Masked vs unmasked
    Media watchers vs conspiracy theorists
    Loneliness vs Safety

Satan uses our differences to separate us. (Literally divide and conquer) Hopefully we can unite in truth and wisdom even in this difficult time.

Also this: “In that day the Egyptians will be as weak as women….”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭19:16‬a ‭NLT‬‬

Interesting that in many places the bible gives a peek into the value of women and how Jesus defied cultural norms in his interactions with women. Yet verses of this kind do not highlight that view and cause feminists to hate on scripture
    .
I would like to believe this was meant in stature or in cultural context not that they are worth less than a man.
