“This is what the Lord says: ‘Be just and fair to all. Do what is right and good, for I am coming soon to rescue you and to display my righteousness among you. Blessed are all those who are careful to do this. Blessed are those who honour my Sabbath days of rest and keep themselves from doing wrong.'” Isaiah 56:1-2 NLT
Be just and fair. Sounds simple enough…..but that’s not the whole sentence. The Lord says that we are to be just and fair to all. Not just to those we love or to those who are nice to us, but to all. Also, we are to have nothing to do with sin. For those who keep their hand from all things displeasing to God and hurtful to their own soul will be blessed.
May we prepare ourselves for Christ’s return and our salvation. Those who, through the Holy Spirit, wait for the hope of righteousness by faith, will be walking in ways of holy obedience.

That first verse stood for me as well because it says do right and good for I am coming soon…. We don’t have forever and even if it’s hard to do right and good we only have to do it for a ‘short’ time because He is coming soon.
The second part stood out for me because “…Blessed are those who honor my Sabbath days of rest and keep themselves from doing wrong.”
Isaiah 56:2 NLT
I started the year with a screen fast for 24 hours from Saturday evening to Sunday evening and it was a time to just enjoy the sabbath. I’ve become lax on this lately as work/school/business online time has creeped into Sunday. The Sabbath days spent off screen were definitely more relaxing and maybe that’s something I need to return to doing.
