“Your gods are the smooth stones in the valleys. You worship them with liquid offerings and grain offerings. They, not I, are your inheritance. Do you think all this makes me happy?” Isaiah 57:6 NLT
We have a number of areas in our lives that we can choose to invest in. Our place of work, our family, ourselves, the stock market, real estate, etc. When we invest into something, we do so with an expectation of achieving a profit – either immediately or at some point down the road. In the case of many investments, after we have made our contribution we then continue to monitor it to see how well it is doing for us. We study it, we look at future projections, look at graphs, and take the time required to protect it, ensuring that in the future we can look back knowing we made a good choice.
While we are to be good stewards with that which the Lord has blessed us with, the most important investment for us to focus on is our eternal inheritance. Do we spend as much time focusing on our eternal inheritance as we do with our worldly investments?
May we repent while we still can, seek the Lord in all we do, and continue to pave the road towards righteousness and away from captivity. In doing so, we receive peace and comfort while living on this earth and an inheritance far beyond our imagination for eternity.

So true.
“For those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die.”
Isaiah 57:2 NLT
When our focus is on Heaven, any worldly distraction pales in comparison. Why do we often long for a long life on earth when Heaven is going to be so much better?
