Isaiah 60

“Violence will disappear from your land; the desolation and destruction of war will end. Salvation will surround you like city walls, and praise will be on the lips of all who enter there.” Isaiah 60:18 NLT

Violence will disappear, there will be no war – only peace, and the praises of God will be celebrated everywhere.

It is hard to imagine a life like this because this is the exact opposite of what we see and hear on the news today. The blessings spoken here are the fruits of the words promised by the Lord in the previous chapter; it is all part of God’s covenant with his church. As hard as this is to imagine reminds us just how strong and mighty our God is – making what seems to be impossible, possible.

May we remain focused on what God is and can do. Our time and place on this world is temporary and not our permanent home. How amazing it will be when the time comes for the future glory of Zion to be revealed.

  1. This stood out for me: “The smallest family will become a thousand people, and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation. At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.””
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭60:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬

A good reminder that it’s not in our timing but God’s that He makes the impossible possible.

  2. Reading this reminded me of when the Israelites found themseves backed into corner by the pursuing Egyptian army on the shores of the Red Sea, our God did the impossible on that day as He will soon in these coming End Times.
