2 Chronicles 32

“But when envoys were sent by the rulers of Babylon to ask him about the miraculous sign that had occurred in the land, God left him to test him and to know everything that was in his heart.” 2 Chronicles 32:31 NIV

God left Hezekiah to himself so that by his trial, along with his weakness in it, he might come to realize what was truly in his heart. Sometimes we need a reality check. It is good for us to know ourselves – both our weakness and sinfulness so that we do not become conceited and self reliant, but rather, to have the understanding that we need to live daily in dependence of the Holy Spirit and His strength.

May we ask the Lord to reveal in us the areas of our weakness and then take the next step of obedience and surrender those areas to Him.

  1. That verse stood out for me too, to know that God will pull back as a test to see what we’re made of.

As did this one: “He may have a great army, but they are merely men. We have the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles for us!” Hezekiah’s words greatly encouraged the people.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭32:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Whenever we think of our problems we can remember this promise: whoever is against us is only a person (created by God) but God (Creator of all) is for us and will see us through any and all battles.
