“Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name; and deliver us, and provide atonement for our sins, for Your name’s sake!” Psalm 79:9 NKJV
Deliverance from troubles and difficult times are mercies indeed, particularly when grounded upon the pardon of sin. Therefore, we should be more earnest in our prayers for the removal of our sins rather than the removal of our afflictions.
May we remember that the Lord sent his son Jesus to deliver us from our sins, not our afflictions.

“Do not hold us guilty for the sins of our ancestors! Let your compassion quickly meet our needs, for we are on the brink of despair.”
Psalms 79:8 NLT
Sin has consequences. Not just for us but for the people around us. Sin far reaching effects. The effects of adultery, divorce, cheating, lying, and theft can lead to generational problems resulting in lack of trust, anger, despair and a poor example set for the future. Sin can be like a disease slowly infecting many beyond the person who initially sinned.
