“Daniel replied, ‘No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind as you were lying in bed are these:’” Daniel 2:27-28 NIV
Daniel was the voice that described and interpreted King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, but God was the one who provided Daniel with the knowledge to do so. Previous to the verses above, Daniel pleaded with the Lord, asking that the mystery be revealed to him so that he could explain the king’s dreams, and thereby preventing their execution.
It is the Lord who equips, it is the Lord who empowers, and it is the Lord who provides wisdom. Daniel could have taken credit for the wisdom he displayed, but his purpose was to remove the kings sufficiencies and reliance’s on the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers, and astrologers, and draw him to the all sufficient God of gods who reveals all mysteries.
May we put to the side the opinion of our wisdom and the feeling of our worthiness, so that the Lord alone would be praised for the good that He equips us to do.

Great thoughts.
This stood out for me: “At Daniel’s request, the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to be in charge of all the affairs of the province of Babylon, while Daniel remained in the king’s court.”
Daniel could have just looked out for himself but also honoured his friends. The same ones who stood by him to eat well for the test. Be sure to surround yourself with good company.
