“Then the other administrators and high officers began searching for some fault in the way Daniel was handling government affairs, but they couldn’t find anything to criticize or condemn. He was faithful, always responsible, and completely trustworthy.” Daniel 6:4 NLT
Wow. What an example for each and everyone of us. To have people search for faults in how we conduct our actions, only to not find anything that we can be criticized of or condemned, is how we ought to live our lives.
Paul wrote in the book of Titus that we are to live a blameless life, or to be above reproach. Daniel exhibited that lifestyle in this chapter and his reward was life, even while he was in the presence of ferocious lions. Just like Daniel, our reward for living above reproach will be life as well – eternal life with our Heavenly Father.

I wonder how it must have felt for Daniel during that experience… did he sleep? Did the lions surround him (though he said God closed their mouths)? Were they able to be pet like a large house cat?
This stood out for me: “Darius the Mede decided to divide the kingdom into 120 provinces, and he appointed a high officer to rule over each province. Then the king gave orders to arrest the men who had maliciously accused Daniel. He had them thrown into the lions’ den, along with their wives and children. The lions leaped on them and tore them apart before they even hit the floor of the den.”
Daniel 6:1, 24 NLT
Our actions to incriminate someone who is innocent has disastrous consequences. In this case, the jealous officials not only lost their lives but also caused their wives and children to also perish. I wonder if they thought that it was worth it? Our actions have consequences not only for us but those around us too.
