“But Mordecai found out about the plot and told Queen Esther, who in turn reported it to the king, giving credit to Mordecai.” Esther 2:22 NIV
Two things are recorded in this chapter which were working towards the deliverance of the Jews from Harman’s conspiracy, and are somewhat wrapped up in this verse.
The first is Esther. Esther’s beauty had won over the king’s eunuch, Hegai, as well as the king himself. In addition to her beauty, we read of her humbleness. When brought before the king, “she asked for nothing more than what Hegai, the king’s eunuch who was in charge of the harem, suggested.” (Verse 15) Also, when presenting the information to the king that two of his officers were planning to assassinate him, she gave credit for the intel to Mordecai, the one who informed her.
The second item is that God had placed Mordecai in the right place at the right time. I’ve never been a part of a conspiracy to kill, but I presume that a plan like that would be kept tight lipped and not discussed in public. The fact that Mordecai learned of their plan and was able to provide Esther with the details, illustrates another example of how God places people where they need to be in order to work things out for the good.

I felt sorry for the girls who didn’t have as choice but to be test-driven by the king. This commentary echoed my thoughts in the 4th point: https://jewsforjesus.org/publications/issues/issues-v22-n09/five-things-about-esther-that-nobody-talks-about
Women have more of an empowered status in society but in this time they were merely property.
