“But if you return to me and obey my commands and live by them, then even if you are exiled to the ends of the earth, I will bring you back to the place I have chosen for my name to be honoured.” Nehemiah 1:9 NLT
Nehemiah reminds God of His promise made to Moses. Like the Israelites, we have all gone against the Lord’s commands. Also like the Israelites, this promise is for available for us as well. No matter what we have done and no matter how far we have strayed from the Lord, He will always take us back.
For those who return to the Lord, will one day be called home to join Him in the place that He too has prepared in advance for us – our own Promised Land.

Great verse from my favourite OT book Conrad, thank you!

“When I heard this, I sat down and wept. In fact, for days I mourned, fasted, and prayed to the God of heaven.”
Nehemiah 1:4 NLT

Another reference to the importance of fasting and praying. Never really noticed how many times this is mentioned.
