John 1

“‘Well then, who are you?’ they asked. ‘Are you Elijah?’ ‘No,’ he (John) replied. ‘Are you the Prophet we are expecting?’ ‘No.’” John 1:21 NLT

I find it interesting that though the Jews were expecting the Messiah to come, many still rejected Him (verse 11). Nothing more fully shows the darkness of mankind’s minds, than that when the Light appears and a witness is required to call attention to it.

We are the same today. We tend to keep asking advice from various individuals until we hear the answer we want to hear, and not necessarily the answer that carries the best advice for us. We know the foods that are healthy for our bodies, yet we choose to partake in foods that are more pleasing to our tastebuds.

Just as advice or healthy foods are right in front of us for our benefit, we tend to reject them as many reject Christ. Dear readers the time is now to see the Light and accept the Prophet that we are expecting. For one day Christ will return and when that day comes, He will be the one who either accepts or rejects us into His presence.

  1. “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It’s true…blocking out the light is extremely difficult. When I did photography, developing the film was a very difficult task because I’m the first step it needs to be pitch black with no amount of light or the film would be ruined. Even with everything blocked off, light still sometimes managed to sneak in. Where there is light it is nearly impossible to keep it all out.
