Matthew 9

“When he (Jesus) had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to to do this?’ ‘Yes, Lord,’ they replied.” Matthew 9:28 NIV

Jesus being all knowing not only of words spoken but also of thoughts thought, knew that the faith of these two blind men was legitimate. They came forward with assurance and belief in their hearts and also professed with their mouth that Jesus could heal them. And He did!

By nature, we are all sinners and it is only by the grace of God that we are saved. Just as Christ touched their eyes to restore their vision, He gives sight to blind souls by the power of His grace.

I am reminded of the ‘A,B,C’s’ in coming to Christ: Acknowledge that we have sinned, Believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died on the cross and rose from the grave on the third day, and Confess that Jesus is the Lord of your life and that you’re committed to following Jesus and serving others.

If you have not made the choice to come to Christ, may you take the time to consider to do so while there is still time. This gift of salvation is available to all who come to Him. And for those who have already decided to follow Christ, may we continue to demonstrate a faith as these two blind men.

  1. “for she thought, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.””
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭9:21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus was on the way to heal a man’s daughter because he believed if Jesus would touch her she would be healed. This woman believed just a grasp of Jesus’ clothing would heal her. May we be like the woman who’s faith in big things made them come to fruition.
