“‘Go,’ he told him, ‘wash in the Pool of Siloam’ (this word mean ‘Sent’). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing. His neighbours and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, ‘Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?’” John 9:7-8 NIV
This past Sunday, our guest speaker at church spoke on Romans 12:1-2 and reminded us of Paul’s words to not conform to the pattern of this world, but rather be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Not knowing who Jesus was, the blind man followed Jesus’ command to go and wash the mud off his eyes. The blind man also asked Jesus to tell him who the Son of Man was so that he could believe.
This man was born blind and now could see. His transformation was evident to all who knew or who had seen him before. The transformation in this mans life was so grand, that it caused many to question how this could be – whether they believed him or not, there was still evidence of change.
It was in the blind man’s obedience and desire to know God that allowed for his transformation. And this transformation was not for his own glory but so that the works of God might be displayed in him (verse 3). May we too have the desire of the blind man; asking God to enter into all areas of our lives, so that others will see the transformation and the work of God in us.

“Some of the Pharisees said, “This man Jesus is not from God, for he is working on the Sabbath.” Others said, “But how could an ordinary sinner do such miraculous signs?” So there was a deep division of opinion among them.”
John 9:16 NLT
Funny how not much has changed: there is still division among people.
Healing on the Sabbath = can’t be the Messiah
Healing a man who was blind from birth = has to be the Messiah
Wear a mask = bullied by government
Wear a mask = protect yourself and vulnerable individuals.
So divided and it will continue to get worse.
