Mark 12

“Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, ‘Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything – all she had to live on.’” Mark 12:43-44 NIV

Here we have Christ commending the widow who cast into the treasury very little, but it was all that she had. This reminded me that the Lord asks us to give all that we can to Him – in all areas. In order for us to do so, our heart needs to be in the right place. Are our offerings given humbly or do we announce it with pride? Do we give liberally or sparingly? Is it with a cheerful heart or a reluctant one?

Christ did not commend the rich who gave large amounts; it was the widow who, monetarily, put in the least. May we not be focused on how much we give to the Lord, but rather may we focus on ensuring that we have giving as much as we possibly can – in all areas.

  1. “For when the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage. In this respect they will be like the angels in heaven.”
    ‭‭Mark‬ ‭12:25‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I know it’s hard for my human brain to comprehend heaven but I hope I get a chance to at least see my husband in Heaven.
