“When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight.” Luke 24:30-31 NIV
Christ by his spirit and grace makes himself known to the souls of his people. He opens their eyes so that they can recognize him and he opens the Scriptures so that he can be known by them. He will come and meet them where they are and invites them to His table to celebrate the breaking of bread.
It is in our short views of Christ, like what these two individuals travelling to Emmaus experienced, that can warm the hearts and encourage fellow believers to continually praise God. It is our duty to let others know what he has done for us. It is also of great use to compare each other’s experiences, as did all who encountered Christ after his resurrection.
May we not remain silent about all that Christ has done for us. May our eyes be opened and allow His goodness to fill us with joy and amazement, giving us the desire to share the Good News!

“However, Peter jumped up and ran to the tomb to look. Stooping, he peered in and saw the empty linen wrappings; then he went home again, wondering what had happened.”
Luke 24:12 NLT
“When in doubt, check it out” is a phrase I often used in my classroom when it came to spelling, interesting questions, and different sides of a story.
Peter doubted the women’s story but he had to check it out for himself. We should also be quick search and find the answers we are looking for.
