“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 NIV
Though both the Old Testament and New Testament make reference to being saved from physical danger and possible physical death, salvation refers primarily to being delivered or rescued from sin. The great saving event in the OT is the exodus, when the Lord freed Israel from the Egyptians. Though the Israelites enjoyed their deliverance, through the prophets they looked forward to the new age when salvation would be proclaimed to the whole earth.
Jesus fulfilled this Old Testament hope, for He came to die in order to save sinners from the guilt and power of sin. We cannot do anything to save ourselves; instead, to receive God’s salvation we must believe in his son Jesus. Upon doing so, He removes our guilt and we receive forgiveness for our past sins. We then begin to live for Christ – for it is in His resurrection power that we have a future hope of becoming free from the stain of sin, and the assurance of joining our Saviour in the Heavenly Realm.

And what a glorious hope that is Conrad…Hallelujah brother!

“But Peter and John replied, “Do you think God wants us to obey you rather than him? We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard.””
Acts of the Apostles 4:19-20 NLT
May we speak with boldness and confidence just as Peter and John did. Let us not stop telling others about what Jesus has done for us.
