“The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on Gentiles.” Acts 10:45 NIV
News flash – salvation is for all. This was a new turn of direction for the apostles for up until this time they were preaching the Gospel only to the Jews, or to the Greeks that were circumcised who had adopted the Jews’ religion. But now the door of faith had been opened to include the Gentiles as well.
What joy and relief that should have been for the Gentile of that day and for the nonbeliever today. This chapter clearly outlines that Christ’s good news of salvation is for everyone. It is not based on your background, your upbringing, or the language you speak as we read in today’s text, and it also does not matter what evil you have done in the past as we read about Saul and his conversion in yesterday’s text.
When you have such good news or something exciting to tell, you would share it with anyone and everyone; the good news of salvation is like that. Though we are all undeserving to receive this gift, Christ came and died on the cross so that no one would perish but have eternal life. But we first need to believe.

“Peter told them, “You know it is against our laws for a Jewish man to enter a Gentile home like this or to associate with you. But God has shown me that I should no longer think of anyone as impure or unclean.”
Acts of the Apostles 10:28 NLT
Interesting to read this in a time of division in society, in families, and in churches. How to navigate the law without isolating people is a very difficult road to travel
