Acts 14

“Finally, they returned by ship to Antioch of Syria, where their journey had begun. The believers there had entrusted them to the grace of God to do the work they had now completed. Upon arriving in Antioch, they called the church together and reported everything God had done through them and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles, too.” Acts 14:26-27 NLT

Here we have the return of Paul and Barnabas to Antioch, where their journey began. Upon their return to the church, they reported back to their fellow believers all that took place while on their journey. They did not report back what they had done, for that would have been done in vain, but rather they reported what God had done with and through them. All glory and all praise was awarded to God.

For it is the Lord that not only places the desire within us to do His will, but also works with us until it is completed. The grace of God can do anything without a ministers’ preaching, but a ministers’ preaching can do nothing without the grace of God.

May this act as a reminder for us that in all we do, the praise that is given, must be awarded to God at all times.

  1. My thoughts were along the same lines: ““Friends, why are you doing this? We are merely human beings—just like you! We have come to bring you the Good News that you should turn from these worthless things and turn to the living God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭14:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

They didn’t even want to bring glory to themselves. They recognized where their power and signs came from. I think it would have been easy to claim otherwise and accept a wee bit of the praise but they didn’t. May we strive to remember that God is the plan designer in our life too and that nothing we accomplish is of our own strength.
